What is care and what does it involve?

Specialist complex carers are essential in managing the health of the client whilst also enabling them to lead an active and inclusive life. There is a variety of nurse delegated care tasks that our carer teams may need to support and this will be individualised to the clients you work with. They can include airway management (including tracheostomy and ventilation care), enteral feeding (e.g. PEG tube) and bowel management. The commissioned care plan could also include some practical tasks like shopping or even personal administration

It takes a special type of person to work within complex care. They are not easily phased by the nature of the care we deliver, which can often be very personal or invasive. Our team are not distracted by this and maintain compassion to enable individuals to live the life they choose regardless of their clinical interventions

There may be moments where it can feel like a challenging career but it is also highly rewarding. Experiencing the reassurance and trust a carer can bring to an individual and their family, through their competence and reliability, can be deeply satisfying

We actively encourage our carers to help fulfil the client’s goals and outcomes and be involved in their interests and passions

Every day you will be positively impacting your clients life
