Our Latest Workshop: ‘A Home First Approach: Solutions to delays in complex care discharges’.
On 13th March 2024, HFH hosted a workshop tackling solutions to delays in complex care discharges. The event brought together professionals from various healthcare sectors, creating an enriching environment for shared learning and collaboration.
Drawing upon our 14 years of industry experience, we were excited to provide a platform for nurses to delve into the complexities surrounding complex care discharges in the community. With attendees representing a diverse array of hospitals and healthcare institutions across London, including Guy’s, St Georges, Royal Brompton, Kings College, Royal Hospital for Neurodisability and various other London ICB’s, the workshop buzzed with collaborative energy and diverse perspectives.
Throughout the day, we delved into a range of topics, such as the 10 principles of complex discharge, strategies for identifying suitable care environments and providers and real-life case studies highlighting both the challenges and successful outcomes encountered in complex care discharge processes.
For attending nurses, this session proved vitally important, contributing 5 hours towards their mandatory continuing professional development. Not only did it fulfil NMC requirements for reflective discussions, it also provided an opportunity to craft one of their five written reflective accounts—a crucial aspect of ongoing professional growth and development.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees speaks volumes: 100% of NHS professionals would recommend our workshop to their peers!
